Hi Everyone--

Today I led a small group of birders on my monthly bird walk around the
Vancouver Lake Lowlands in Clark County. Noteworthy were an adult NORTHERN
SHRIKE in willows on the east side of Post Office Lake, over 500 TUNDRA
SWANS and 100 SNOW GEESE on a pond visible from Lower River Road at MP 9.9,
two GREATER-WHITE-FRONTED GEESE with lots of Cacklers in a field around MP
9, and a streak-chested WHITE-THROATED SPARROW (with lots of Golden-crowns)
in the parking lot at Vancouver Lake County Park. The weather was quite
good, ranging from sunny to sprinkly. Overall species diversity was typical
(perhaps a bit low), 59 species today.
