Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 24. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

An adult male YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER is now coming to a feeder in
Florence. A subadult Yellow-bellied is coming to a feeder in Burns.
On December 21 a TREE SPARROW was north of Bandon on the North Spit of the
Coquille River. On December 17 a BREWER? SPARROW and a BLACK PHOEBE were
along Fiddle Creek Road on the east side of Siltcoos Lake. A BLACK PHOEBE
and over 20 KITES were seen on the December 20 Tillamook Christmas Count. On
December 21 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was off Cape Meares. A flock of 25 COMMON
REDPOLLS and two BLUE-WINGED TEAL were seen on the December 21 Columbia
Estuary Count.
On December 17 six BARN SWALLOWS were at Ridgefield NWR. On December 21 a
BLUE-WINGED TEAL was at Burlington Bottoms near the Sauvie Island Bridge, a
PRAIRIE FALCON was on the east side of the Island along Rentenaar Road, and
12 SHORT-EARED OWLS and four ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were in Scappoose Bottoms.
On December 20 a MACGILLIVRAY?S WARBLER was at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro.
A juvenile gray phase GYRFALCON has been at Baskett Slough NWR since
December 21. A ROSS?S GOOSE was in SE Salem and two HARRIS?S SPARROWS and a
SWAMP SPARROW were in Minto-Brown Park December 20. On December 21 six
CINNAMON TEAL and five EURASIAN WIGEON were at Ankeny NWR.
A SAY?S PHOEBE was near Harrisburg December 22. On December 20 a SAGE
THRASHER and 24 KITES were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On December 22 ten BARN
SWALLOWS and a probable VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW were there. On December 23 a
GREATER SCAUP and a MACGILLIVRAY?S WARBLER were at Grants Pass. A TREE
SWALLOW was at cave Junction December 21.
