Greetings,

Today I made it up to Daroga State Park. Most of the snow has melted and the
walking was good.
The Black-and-white Warbler was rather easily found close to where it was
originally seen. Viewed at about 1230. You might recall I first reported the
bird here on 6 December. I am somewhat surprised that none has seen it
since. Here are the new directions:
Daroga State Park is in Douglas County and is 24 miles [thats what the
signage says] north of Wenatchee along US 97. There are two entrances to
Daroga; turn off at the main entrance at about MP219.5 The park is closed
so park so as not to block the gates. Walk around the gate and go down the
main park road. Go past the first parking lot on the left. Soon you will see
two small cinder block buildings on the left. One is a restroom, the other
is a long narrow building. Just west of here is a play area. The B&W was in
pines and poplars around the play area. It was with a few Golden-crowned
Kinglets.
Also of interest was an adult male hybrid duck showing Ring-necked Duck
parentage. This duck was on the lake that you can easily see off to your
left at the main gate.
Doctors agree. Birding Douglas County lowers blood pressure!

Good Birding,
