My Christmas gift from the world of feathered friends was the arrival of a
small flock of Pine Siskins (12 or 15) at my balcony feeders on Christmas
morning! They are back again today. This is the first flock I have seen at my
feeders since the winter months of early 2002. None showed up during late 2002 or
early 2003.

I was very happy to see these little birds along with the species that have
been regularly visiting my balcony - - -

Chestnut-backed & Black-capped Chickadees,
Red-brested Nuthatch,
Downy & Hairy Woodpeckers,
Dark-eyed Junco,
Spotted Towhee,
House & Song Sparrows,
and Band-tailed Pigeons.

Occasionally a flock of Bushtits forage by or a solitary Ruby-crowned Kinglet
searches for insects in the potted viburnum. And a less frequent treat is to
see a Brown Creeper working it's way around the trunk of a tree in the ravine.

Cheers!
