I learned something today, through direct observation, and I'll just share
it with you all. When a Sharp-shinned Hawk molts from juvenile to adult
plumage, the progression on it's front is from vent to chin. I wish you
could have seen it. The upper breast was still juvenile and the lower
breast was adult. I'd never seen that before.
