Talking on the telephone here at my home south of Olympia this morning, a Townsend's Solitaire
landed in my yard, on the ground. I watched it for about 10 seconds before it flew off. I'm just
a half mile south of Yelm Highway, south of Hewitt Lake. This is the first Townsend's Solitaire
I've ever seen in my neighborhood though I've seen a few in the past 2 years during May and
June around Bald Hill in southeast Thurston County.
