Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Tuesday December 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

Two RUFOUS/ALLEN?S type HUMMINGBIRDS are now coming to a feeder in
Brookings. A BARRED OWL and a BARN SWALLOW was near there December 25. The
December 28 Port Orford Christmas Count found many gulls including a
GLAUCOUS GULL. The December 27 Coos Bay count recorded three BARN SWALLOWS
and some RED PHALAROPES. On December 25 two TREE SWALLOWS were on the North
Spit of Coos Bay. A large gull flock at Yachats December 26 contained 240
THAYER?S GULLS and 100 HERRING GULLS, all adults. A RED PHALAROPE was at the
South Jetty of the Siuslaw River December 27.

On December 24 a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE and a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK were reported
from Rentenaar Road on Sauvie Island. A HARRIS?S SPARROW was near the
Vanport Wetlands in North Portland December 29. On December 30 a
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were nearby at the Smith/Bybee
Lakes. A ROCK WREN has been seen during the week coming to a residential
house south of Milwaukie.

The Baskett Slough NWR GYRFALCON continues to be seen. A GREEN HERON , a
GLAUCOUS GULL, and a WESTERN GULL were seen on the December 28 Dallas Count..
On December 28 a RED PHALAROPE was with 25,000 DUNLIN at Ankeny NWR. A SNOW
BUNTING was seen along Glaser Road west of Lebanon December 27. On December
28 a BURROWING OWL was found along Dorsey Road west of Junction City. The
Blueberry Road BURROWING OWL near Halsey is still being seen. A CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW was at Fern Ridge Reservoir December 27. The December 27 Grants Pass
count recorded 62 BLACK PHOEBES, 19 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, and 12 KITES.

On December 25 a SAY?S PHOEBE was near Helix north of Pendleton, and a
COMMON REDPOLL was near Pilot Rock.
