Sunday there was a Merlin on the west side of North Bonneville sitting in a
tall evergreen north of Hwy. 14.

At Bingen Marina were 2 Pied-billed Grebes, 1 Horned Grebe, 1 Tundra Swan
and 1 Trumpeter Swan in the pond (both adults). At the southwest corner
eating on bird seed were numerous Golden-crowned and White-crowned Sparrows
with a few Song Sparrows and 1 Harris's Sparrow. No Lesser Goldfinches
could be found that had been seen earlier by Andy.

On the road heading up to Glenwood were 2 adult Golden Eagles soaring in the
wind and partly cloudy skies. The Conboy NWR had swans way out on the lake
which of course was high water. We noted several small patches of snow along
the edges of the road where the sun hadn't shone yet and had good views of
Mt. Adams as we checked it from different angles(Glenwood and Trout Lake).

About a half mile driving into the headquarters of Conboy NWR right before a
cattle guard was 1 male White-headed Woodpecker feeding low on the Ponderosa
Pines south of the gravel road.
