Some nice birds to see on a walk: western grebe, four horned grebes
(never seen these here before) and eight pairs of common mergansers. The
crows were busy mobbing a bald eagle, whom I did not see but heard well
in the usual hangout near the NE end of the peninsula.

Others included mallards, buffleheads, goldeneye, coots.
