The Sibley guie says March-Sep for Pigeon Guillemots
in breeding plumage so I think this is indeed early.
Last year, however, a birder from Illinois and myself
had one in breeding plumage in Sequim on New Year's
Day. It was quite odd to say the least.

As far as other anecdotal comments about how early
spring seems this year, I have to take issue with the
comments about Pacific Tree Frogs calling. We have
literally hundreds of them in the pond about 20 feet
behind our back fence (if you want to hear something
truly amazing, give me a phone call some evening in
late March or early April, the roar is deafening, even
over the phone from inside the house). We have tree
frogs calling all year here. Especially on warm sunny
afternoons in the winter. I know I've heard them in
the yard on warm days back around Christmas, and I
heard some on Jan 2 across the street from Vance Creek
Park when I went to see the Ruff. I haven't been home
for the last month so I haven't really had a chance to
listen for them here since.

On the other hand, plants are definately blooming
ahead of schedule. I've noticed many plants about a
month or so early this year. I can't believe it, but
the Tete a tete daffodils are already blooming in
front of my house....
