Subject: Osprey nesting on manmade objects

Last year, there were at least three seperate pairs of osprey nesting along the lower Duwamish on buildings, light posts and cranes. These sites are easily visible from East Marginal Way, or when you curl back under the W. Seattle freeway on the west side (not sure if that is West Marginal or what). A group of us volunteers for People For Puget Sound's "BirdSound" program counted them every month when doing our point-counts last summer.

An Oregon wildlife biologist from the USGS wants to study osprey nesting
on MAN-MADE objects (vs. trees and other natural locations)in the Puget
Sound region. Does anyone know of any such locations?
