Subject: Crane Festival in Othello March 21-23
Date: Feb 6 21:11:46 2003
From: hill - hill at cbnn.net

Brochures have been mailed, and I think the website is all updated now,
although there may be some new info added along the way. Go to
www.othello-wa.com and steer your way through to registration; and now
credit cards accepted. This year's event may top last year even without
Peter Matthiessen; this year we have Teddy Roosevelt speaking at the
banquet! We will have 5 concurrent speakers for seven hours (both returning
and brand new), lots of cranes guaranteed, more field trips with top-notch
leaders, a continuation of the Authors' Forum, and a new partner (Othello
Conservation District) that will be very responsive to inquiries.

This year's theme is the Roosevelt legacy as we are finishing up the 100th
anniversary celebration of the Bureau of Reclamation, and about to begin the
Centennial of the National Wildlife Refuge system. Karen Hollingsworth, who
has photographed on refuges for several decades, will be the featured
presenter. Even if you don't care about seeing Teddy Roosevelt in person,
you'll want to attend the banquet for the feast that Lance Wells puts on!
