Hi folks,

I was looking for Great Blue Herons down at the locks this morning when
about 50 of them flew out of the trees, moostly in the English Gardens but
elsewhere as well. They circled overhead higher and higher until finally
leaving to the west, towards the Sound. The rest of the birds seemed upset
as well. Looking around I found the "problem", a mature Bald Eagle on the
very top of the Giant Sequoia. A majestic sight, but not to the herons, I
guess.
