Hello All,
On the 7th we located two SNOWY OWLS southeast of Moses Lake. Owl #1 was on a wheel line just to the northeast of the jct. of L se and 5 se, out beyond a abandoned brick home. This bird was an sub-adult and the cap was nearly black. Bird #2 was half way between L se and M se just to the north of 4 se. This was an adult female.

This morning on Parker Horn behind the Staples store in Moses Lake were 17 Dunlin, 14 Killdeer, 1 Great Egret and 1 Prairie Falcon. Up on the Waterville Plateau we discovered 500+ SNOW BUNTINGS near Mile Post 184 along HWY 2, along P ne we observed 2 Snow Buntings and 7 LAPLAND LONGSPURS. Along the Mansfield Rd. We came face to face with Patrick and Ruth Sullivan, an unexpected surprise. It was good to see them. We then headed for Foster Creek Rd.( really it is called Bridgeport Hill Rd.) and goes up along the west fork of Foster Creek. We located 1 SHARP-TAILED GROUSE in the north end water birch grove just above HWY 17. We also observed 8 Rough-legged Hawks Between HWY 2 and Mansfield. Beautiful day and some great birds. There is about 7 inches of snow on the Waterville. We also saw thousands of Horned Larks of three races with the Pallid race being the most striking. Now get out there and bird!

P.S. We found no loons on any of the lakes between Soap Lake and Dry Falls Dam.
