I recall once being told that large field guides, (such as my "A Guide to the Birds of Costa Rica," or the mexican field guide) could be taken to Kinko's and made a bit more "field-friendly," so to speak. By this I mean that they could separate the plates from the text and make two books, thus allowing only the plates to be taken into the field and the text to be left in the car or cabin. Is this true, or was I dreaming?

I'm leaving to Costa Rica on Tuesday . . .

Thanks!
