I saw the first male rufous hummer of the year at my feeder this
morning, at my home in Nahcotta. He was feeding before dawn, then again
around dawn (I was late going to work). He settled on the feeder like he
was a relatively new arrival, perhaps coming in yesterday, still not
completely accustomed to a feeder he could perch on.

With the sunlight I had a good look at his head, clearly rufous, not
Allen's.
