I was at the Kenmore Park-N-Ride at 5:20PM today and counted 37 Great Blue
herons. 26 were paired up on the rim of nests. The other 11 consisted of
single birds on nest and others just out on branches in the trees. There may
have been a few more GBH further back in the trees (couldn't tell if they
were nests or GBH "humps") but I couldn't be sure without walking out into
the marsh.

One of the herons caught my eye as it had its wings spread out over the nest
while it stood on the rim. A couple minutes later a heron called out as it
flew up and landed on the edge of the nest with a good sized fish in its
beak. It gave the fish to its mate who proceeded to stretch out it's neck
and put the fish in the nest and started work on it.

I haven't seen anything about the herons at the Kenmore Park-N-Ride for
awhile so thought folks might be interested.
