This morning, during the Falcon Research Group raptor census in the Skagit
Valley, famous visiting birder and author William Clark and his team found
a rare LIGHT-MORPH HARLAN'S HAWK on Fir Island. Brian Bell, Mary Frances
Mathis, and I were able to relocate this bird later in the afternoon on Dry
Slough Rd. where the road veers to the right at the dike, just before it
turns into Skagit City Rd. The hawk was perched in some trees on the dike.
