I photographed the hawk near to the Skagit River in the North Cascades, a
little ways east of Marblemount. We got a lost and went down a little used
road. It was a beautiful day so we just kept going for awhile before
turning around. We spotted the hawk perched above the road and it let us
get fairly close before flying to another branch. It didn't seem at all
frightened of us and was instead concentrating pretty heavily on something
to the side of the road. We figured it must have been a field mouse or
something like that.
