Hi,
Three weeks ago we think we found all the missing Turkey
Vultures. We had occasion to visit Cuba for a few days and Turkey
Vultures were literally everywhere, great numbers of them. Other
species of birds were hard to find, perhaps they have been deported.
We did not see any Turkey Vultures in the Dominican Republic
and saw only two in Haiti.
An interesting note, the most common wintering
warbler in all of the islands we visited was the American Redstart.
Every day we birded we found several.
Also, in downtown Havana we found a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker!
We found less birds than we had hoped to find but still had a
great time. Larry and Jacque from Walla Walla
