This is just a question for those who have birded Pine Creek in eastern
Klickitat County.

Every time I pass this spot I say to myself "I need to figure how to get
into this place." It just smells of rarities of spring migrants that sneek
through our state and never get glimpsed by anyone. Has anyone ever check
this place out? Is this the place the Malheur rarities pass through?

For those who haven't been there try driving to Bickleton from Goldendale.
Pine Creek is just before you get to Bickleton and just after you've passed
through Cleveland. On any hot May-June day of scrub-steppe you
all-of-a-sudden pass into this very green pine and brush ravine with just a
trickle of water.

This whole part of the state is tough to bird and one can only guess how
many Pinon Jays are in those high ridge juniper trees where there isn't any
roads.

Just trying to bird the unbirdable,
