Hello All,
At about 1640hrs I relocated the LBBG that has been found on the Walla Walla River delta over the last three winters. This time it popped up out on the delta and was observed preening and wing stretching. Most likely been present all winter and we have just missed it. There is a record of one LBBG returning to the same Mustang Island, Texas beach for ten years, 1984-94. So these gulls display strong wintering site fidelity and apparently long life spans. So maybe you have six more years to look for this one before it drops of old age. The evening fly-in seems to be the best shot at seeing this bird, starting at about 4:00 P.M. and ending with night fall at about 5:45 P.M.. Good Luck!
