Subject: Nature Cruise from La Conner

38 people were on the East Lake Washington Audubon nature cruise from La
Conner. They were rewarded by very good weather and calm seas. We went north
through the Swinomish Channel to Padilla Bay, west past Fidalgo Head to bird
rocks, and back through Deception Pass, Williamson Rocks and the rock jetty
at the south end of the channel.

Here is the list of 38 bird species I recorded on the cruise on Sat. In
addition to the birds, we saw California Sea Lion, Harbor Seals and a
Coyote on an island.

Rough-legged Hawk - good looks at 1 beautiful bird
Black Turnstone - 50+ on rock jetty
Black Oystercatcher - excellent views of 10 or more birds
