The Harris's Sparrow was again present on Old Lower River Road at miday
today (02/23/02). Ken Knittle and I found it in the location described by
Mark Miller on OBOL:

> a first-year HARRIS'S SPARROW (found earlier by Tom Aversa) with a
> flock of Golden-crowns at the entrance to the BPA Alcoa Substation at the
> south end of Old Lower River Road. To get to the sparrow, take I-5 to exit
> 1C aka Mill Plain Blvd. aka SR 501, go west through Vancouver to Old Lower
> River Road at MP 4.1, then left at the first paved road, marked by a sign
> for Evergreen Aluminum. Park across the street from the large mailbox for
> the substation, and check the area left and right of the gate.

Based on my brief confusion, I would add that to take the first left off of
Old Lower River Road, and that the black mailbox noted above is immediately
on your left. The bird was also on the on the edge of Old Lower River Road,
back towards NW Lower River Road (State Route 501).

I took a few pictures, and they can be found at:
