On my way to school this morning, I saw a female peregrine chasing three
pigeons. Two of the pigeons stayed high above the falcon (which is the
golden rule when being chased by a falcon) but one pigeon thought it'd be
safe by getting to home (the bridge) which wasn't too far away but far
enough to call it close. So in order for it to do that, it had to go below
the falcon (had to go down to gain speed quickly) and the female peregrine
saw the bird and quickly stopped chasing the two high flyers and went after
the low flying one that was hugging the cat tails. I didn't see the end
result like I would have liked but I was on a two one way highway so....
Then, when I got into Everett, I saw this bird that didn't look right, and
sure enough it was a male cooper's or possible a female sharpy, and she/he
did a wing over on some starlings in this used car lot and I think it got
one becuase when I went to look I didn't see it. So I'm asuming it went
under a car to eat, or it 'MIGHT' have missed the bird and chased it down
somewhere else. But it also could have caught the starling in midair, all
are possiblities.
