I've seen several flocks of LTDU since my first sighting in
Bellingham, they keep showing up whenever I go to the sound up here.
Proir to this year, I have been trying desperately to find Long-Tailed
Duck around the state for at least eight years, but now they're
everywhere. Is there some sort of cosmic rule that once you see a bird
for the first time, it suddenly becomes the most common bird on the
planet? It seems that way, it happened to me with LTDU, Peregrine
Falcons, Redpolls, Stilts, Swans, McGilavrey's (I know I misspelled it)
Warbler. Wierd. Does this happen to anyone else?
