Greetings -
I spent a good chunk of yesterday out at Ocean Shores enjoying the
beautiful weather. Notable birds included the following --

Shorebirds:

Damon Pt. St. Pk:
Black-bellied Plover - 2 along the n. beach
Semipalmated Plover -1 along the inlet flats, just s. of the
break in the road
Killdeer - several, mostly inland
Sanderling - many mixed among the Dunlin on the n. beach
Least Sandpiper - ~10 in the mixed beach flocks
Rock Sandpiper - a couple in the inlet area
Dunlin - maybe 50 along the beaches

Ocean Shores Jetty:
Black Turnstone
Surfbird

Others:
A peregrine gave a few beautiful fly-bys as I walked along the
Damon Pt. beaches
N.Harriers popped up pretty regularly
a pair of Bald Eagles briefly made an appearance north of Damon Point.
Western, Horned & Red-necked Grebes
Double-crested & Pelagic Cormorants
25-30 Brant swimming off the n.beach of Damon Pt.
Surf & White-winged Scoters
Gulls: GW, Herring, Western, Thayers, Ring-billed & hybrids
[unfortunately, I didn't relocate the reported BL Kittiwakes]
Horned Lark - one sitting out on the flats at Damon Pt. St.
Park, sounding lonely.

Good birding,
