Hi Tweeters--

This afternoon I saw the "usual suspects" at our neighborhood pond, as well as one EURASIAN WIGEON among the flock of 30 or so American Wigeon. A first for me at this location.

Also present today were Mallard, Canada Goose, Red-winged Blackbird, American Robin, Black-capped Chickadee, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, American Crow, Red-breasted Sapsucker (also a first for me at this location) and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

Not visible today, but normally resident, are American Coot, Great Blue Heron, Downy Woodpecker and a nesting pair of Bald Eagles.

If you happen to be driving by the area some time, you might want to stop for a brief look, but I've never seen anything really rare here. The only public viewing access that I know of is at the corner of 66th Ave. E. and 116th St. E., in the Summit View area south of Puyallup. You can get to 66th off of 112th St. E. just east of Canyon Road. Please be careful to park where drivers can see you from both directions.
