Subject: Birding Software Question

Hi Tweeters,

Is there software out there which not only provides bird lists for regions -
i.e.
countries, states, provinces, counties etc. - but also details abundance
codes?
Is there any way to go to Avisys for example and find out that Social
Flycatcher is considered "Common" in Costa Rica while Eurasian Dotterel is a
"Vagrant" in Washington State? I'm guessing that perhaps the software is
not
sophisticated enough but more than likely the inconceivably massive
amount of data entry required for such a project has not been attempted.
The
other major obstacle, of course, is that birds are not distributed neatly
across
human political boundaries i.e. Black-billed Magpie is quite a common bird
east
of the Cascades but a rarity west of the crest. On the whole, however, this
species
could be classified as common in the state. Are there any plans among the
software
producers to attempt this breakdown?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,
