Hi Tweeters:
For those worried about Roger Beep on FRS radios, you might be interested in
the following messages. And if you have one w/ Roger Beep that can't be
disabled, go ahead and use it, but turn the volume down. Other folks will
not have to hear the beep, but you should be able to get your messages.
When in the field talking to your buddies use your own Channel and Code for
your group. Then when you want to talk to others about a rare bird or
target bird, switch to Channel 11, Code 22. Don't use 11.22 for personal
chit-chat.

Tom:
Not to worry. All the Motorola beeps can be disabled. I also ordered those
from Gart, and received them right away. Very cool way to Christmas shop!
I gave mine away to someone, but it seemed super easy to disable the beep,
something like holding in the + button while turning on the radio. Once
it's disabled it will stay that way until you change it again. The radios
worked very well for us the day we used them.
Cobra made some radios that couldn't be disabled (in the past at least).
But Motorolas have been very good. Go ahead and open them. You'll like
them.
Yours, Carol
