A number of people asked me to report on my experience with the new birders'
day pack, the JanSport Roadrunner. It's great! Very comfortable, the
arrangement of its pockets make a lot of sense, all in all a very
birder-friendly product. Usually I'm not even aware it's on, until I need
something from it. IMO it's useful on a car birding trip rather than a
hiking trip, as it's smaller than a conventional day pack. The only
addition I'd make to it is a loop at the top of the pack's body, so one
could grab it w/o using the carrying strap.
