Subject: Peregrine Falcons on Wenzel Slough Road

After seeing the Ruff today, my father and I and John and Ellie Friars among
others went along Wenzel Slough Road. A number of Trumpeter Swans were way out
in a field and a flock of Dunlin was having trouble settling down in a pond
which caused us to be looking around.

I noticed a raptor with a blackbird in its talons and continually misidentified
it until another raptor came partially off the surface of the field to greet it
and then landed again. The raptor turned out to be a Peregrine Falcon and it
dropped the blackbird to the second bird as the second landed again. The
second also was a Peregrine which proceeded to sit and eat out in the middle of
the field.
