Jim and Tweets-
I reported seeing a white phase gyrfalcon awhile back flying along the I-90
corridor just past Snoqualmie right before the Highway 18 interchange. I saw
him in early November, and listed my sighting to tweeters. Since then, my
husband and I have seen it intermittently through November and early
December, sometimes perched on top of the freeway lights and other times
flying along I-90. We haven't seen him for at least 3 weeks. When I first
saw him (her) I thought it was a snowy owl, but when I got closer (in my car
on I-90), I could see that it must be a white phase Gyr. Absolutely
breathtaking! I did see a white phase Gyr when I was living in Seattle
several years ago (before I knew about tweeters) flying west on NE 65th
almost in front of the Greenlake Methodist church chasing pigeons. I almost
had an accident, couldn't believe what I saw! Beautiful pale blue-grey
stripes under its tail. If we see it again, I'll mention it.
