Hi, I haven't posted before (maybe once a few years back) and hope this is
appropriate here. My mother sent me a digital picture today of a Trumpeter
Swan near our family property on the West side of Brady Loop Road near
Satsop. There has been a swan there today that is sleeping on the road and
doesn't go very far away from cars. It raises it's beak high as if to find
easier respiration. I didn't see this myself but my mother and brother are
fairly familiar with what should be expected as normal behavior. The swans
here are never this tame.
Wanted to put the word out as I read that many birders do visit our area near
the Chehalis River.

**On a side note. I would like to talk to some folks who would have a good
idea what we can do to make the area better for animals. We have a nice size
piece of property on the Chehalis and I would like to re-vegetate some areas.
I am not interested in talking to the Game Department at this time as I am
not really happy with what they have done with helping the neighbors get what
is amounting to a government subsidized shooting range and their lack of help
concerning other issues and general poor regulatory process towards poachers,
after-hours shooting etc...

Thanks so much
