I have the Bausch and Lomb Elite 8x42 binoculars and I love them. I'm not a person who has
tried many makes and models of high quality binoculars. I've had a history of owning
some pretty cheap stuff. But, the Elites are bright and, most importantly for me, they
never fog up. The close focusing capability is probably the next most important feature.
I like to be able to focus on things that are 10 feet away, sometimes less. Particularly,
valuable with butterflies and other flying insects.

I've had my pair since December, 1997 and I've put them through lots of use, in all kinds
of conditions, without that much care in handling and storage (they are always in my truck).
They still seem to be virtually good as new.
