I've been doing lots of digiscoping, and have found that I don't have a great need for an adaptor for my camera (Nikon Coolpix 995) to the scope (Leica 77mm APO). I leave the scope at low power, focus, and zoom with the camera; I may or may not adjust the camera focus to MACRO. I confirm that my shutter speed will be at least as fast as 1/60, and I shoot lots. It's not good for moving targets, only for stationary ones. The camera is held by hand, possibly braced against the scope eyepiece. I shoot only on fairly bright calm days.

A number of my purple martin shots are here on the web:

Most were taken last summer from distances of perhaps 30-80 feet.
