Rob, maybe the dunlin was agitated by some predator nearby and it was in
some way handicapped from flying? Who knows.... That's so cool that you saw
barn swallows. It's amazing that they survived the whole winter in WA,
although I wouldn't call this a winter! :( So you saw a shrike with it's
prey how neat. Isn't it weird how they impale their prey? Easier for them to
rip apart the animal and a storage place for later eating. Cool.
