After a brief power outage, the recent sightings messages on the alert were
lost. Here is a brief reconstructed summary.

On January 1, Jane Abel reported a larger than usual concentration of 8
VARIED THRUSHES in her North Richland yard.

Also on January 1, Paula Clark noted the continued presence of the TUNDRA
SWAN at McNary National Wildlife Refuge. It was there through at least
January 9.

Bob Woodley located a PACIFIC LOON on the Columbia River between Nelson
Island (Groves Park) and Howard Amon Park in Richland on January 7.

Bob also made a tour of the south slope of Rattlesnake Mountain on January
11. He found a gray morph GYRFALCON there.

Margaret Greger reported a partial albino HOUSE FINCH in her Richland yard.

Wayne Heinz and Lucie Fritz reported swan and 24 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS
in the Othello area.

Yesterday, January 16, Ruth Fischer found 15 DUNLIN at the Yakima Delta and
2 WESTERN GREBES along Columbia Park in Kennewick. Neither of these birds
appeared on the recent Christmas Bird Count.
