All,
The site on Portland where the McCown's Longspur belongs to the Port of
Portland, and there is a small sign right where everyone parks that notes
"No Trespassing." One of the confirmers of the bird called the Port of
Portland on access, and the word from the Port was that they would probably
not prosecute anyone who was out there and that they were interested in the
birds that were there, but they did not give explicit permission because
they did not want to open the area to the entire public. So, basically, it
is head out into the field at your own risk.
Of course, if you are heading down this way, you might as well get the
Vermilion Flycatcher while you are at it as well.
