I would like to know about counting crow roosts too. Is anyone asking for help from the public? I know two people in the Kent Valley willing to volunteer. Are there websites or phone numbers for anyone interested in West Nile Virus and WILDLIFE? The public health folks aren't too concerned, because healthy humans aren't too affected by this disease. But birds are definitely affected. Two groups of birds that may be especially hard-hit are raptors and owls. Is there anyone we can contact that is working on this wildlife problem now? We have people willing to count crows.

Since crows roost communally during the winter months, is anybody out there doing any baseline counts of roosts in preparation for West Nile Virus reductions? Seems like this would be the best time to do this to establish at least some kind of population baselines. I am thinking of assigning this to a team of students to find and count the Snohomish Roosts. Any ideas about best methods for this would be appreciated
