Hello Tweets:
When I first moved to Ocean Shores from southern California, the
twice-daily movement of thousands of crows above my house drove me to try to
follow them. In their morning flight, they came from somewhere to the north
of the peninsula (Ocean Shores) and disbursed throughout the community. But
in their nightly flight home, I was unable to follow them after they crossed
Hwy 109 and continued north into the vast tracts of privately owned
forests....ah, to be winged and follow! Can anyone tell me how far they fly
to roost?
I am host to anywhere from 25 to 45 (depending on their "mood") crows each
morning when I throw out the remains of last night's dog kibble and cat
food, as well as the daily ration of chicken scratch and sunflower seeds. I
also throw out chicken fat and leftover oatmeal with raisins when I have it.
I LIKE corvids!
