Hi Tweets

Had a break from commitments and made a hurried
trip up to Silvana to look for the Rusty
Blackbird. Found the location with no problems
thanks to Ted Kenefick's and others directions.
Spent from about 2 PM until after 3 PM looking
around the area. No flock of Red-winged and
Brewer's Blackbirds found in the area. Some
pigeons parked on the dairy barn roof, 3 swans
further north off Norman Road (didn't set up the
scope, so they are 'swan sp.'), lots of Larids in
several field and some Canada Geese, and several
large flocks of starlings. One flock of
'starlings' turned out to be half American
obins -- probably 300-400 of them. Didn't know
they associated that closely. Something was
spooking them and they flew from a field into
nearby cottonwoods and back to the field several
times. In the field they virtually disappeared.
So the blackbirds could be hiding, too!

Bottom line -- no flock with a Rusty Blackbird
was found at the dairy farm or off any of the
roads in the immediate vicinity. It may still be
there and if it is seen again, I would like to
hear about it.

Good Birding to you all,

Bob
