This is the Vancouver Natural History Societies Rare Bird Alert for
Tuesday January 21st, evening update, sponsored in part by the Wild
Birds Unlimited Stores in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

The feature birds are GYRFALCON and BARN SWALLOW.

Sightings for Tuesday, January 21st

There were 5 barn swallows along the Dyke in Boundary Bay, Delta
between 104th street and 96th street.

Monday, January 20th

There were 47 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 2 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE
at Beach Grove Lagoon in Tsawwassen.

The only two known CRESTED MYNAS were on Wylie street between First
and Second in Vancouver.

Sunday, January 19th

There was a GYRFALCON at Brunswick Point in Ladner.

The two CRESTED MYNAS were at 2nd and Wylie in Vancouver.

Saturday, January 18th

At the Reifel Refuge in Ladner was a BARN SWALLOW, a GREAT-HORNED
OWL, a VIRGINIA RAIL, a MERLIN, a SPOTTED SANDPIPER, a PEREGRINE FALCON
and an AMERCAN KESTREL was at 33A and 41B street.

There were no sightings for Friday.

Thursday, January 16th

The AMERCIAN AVOCET was at Beach Grove in Tsawwassen in the morning.

There was a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and at least 2 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS at
Blackie Spit.
