On the Columbia River at Wanapum Dam south of Vantage, Kittitas Co WA the
YELLOW-BILLED LOON is persisting below the dam, as is a RED-THROATED LOON.
Both were still seen as of 18 Jan. Thanks to Scott Downesk, Michael Dossett
and Dave Beaudette for the updates. Wanapum Dam is about 5 miles south of
Vantage on the Columbia River. WA DeLorme 52, A-1.

A WESTERN SCREECH-OWL is persisting in Clarkston, Asotin Co WA in the area
of Hilyard and 18th above Swallows Park according to Carole Vande Voorde.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was in Moses Lake Community Park [formerly the State Park
in Moses Lake], Grant Co WA on 13 Jan according to Dave Beaudette. The bird
was in the Russian-olives to the left of the entrance. WA DeLorme 69, D-6.

The ad WESTERN GULL was seen again along the Lewiston, Nez Perce Co ID levee
on 18 Jan by Keith Carlson. This bird has been seen around the Lewiston /
Clarkston area for more than a month now. A couple of male EURASIAN WIGEONS
are also persisting along the Snake River. Look for them in the American
Wigeon flocks in either state.

A SNOWY OWL was seen 18 Jan in a field SE of a residence (5215) on Road 5
SE south of Moses Lake, Grant Co WA by Bob Flores. WA DeLorme 69, D-6.
Another SNOWY OWL was seen 19 Jan in Lincoln Co WA near the corner of
Morrison and Janet roads just SE of Davenport according to Sue Orlowski.

Four falcon species were seen 18 Jan along Case Road on the south slope of
Rattlesnake Mountain by Dennis Rockwell. He reports seeing an AMERICAN
KESTREL, MERLIN, PRAIRIE FALCON, and GYRFALCON. WA DeLorme 38, B-3.

On the Rathdrum Prairie north of Post Falls, Kootenai Co ID, Gina Sheridan
reports a SHORT-EARED OWL along Lancaster Road between Meyers and Heutter
roads. ID DeLorme 60, AB-1.
