This evening I spotted the Snohomish Gyr in a prominent snag at the
intersection of Hwy 9 and Airport Way as I was stuck in traffic trying to
get to the traditional spot before it got too dark. It was so close that I
had the best scope views I've ever had of one. It watched as starlings came
in to roost lower in the tree and considered a chase when an adult Cooper's
Hawk flew over. It groomed until just before dark and then flew off to the
SE.

At the Snohomish-Monroe Rd site there were hundreds (probably over a
thousand) crows coming in to roost at several locations - very impressive
sight.

The Yellow-billed Loon persists at Wanapum Dam - only Common Loons also in
the area. I could not locate a Snowy Owl at Moses Lake.
