During a brief stop on Fir I. today I had two Swamp Sparrows in the sparrow
flock adjacent to the parking area for the boat launch at the Skagit WMA
headquarters; there was also a male Slate-colored Junco. Also, just beyond
the gate at the Snow Goose Preserve, I had a 1st-year Black-crowned
Night-Heron along a small slough, nice because birds that used to frequent
the small slough just west, along the Fir I. Rd., have been missing for it
seems a year or so now.
