The Washington Ornithological Society would like to announce the following
field trips:

Saturday, February 1st, 2003 - Bellingham, Blaine and Lynden - Dick
McNeely will lead a trip in Whatcom County to Cherry Point, Birch Bay, and
Drayton Harbor looking for loons, grebes, alcids, ducks and shorebirds
that winter on salt water bays and passerines in adjacent land habitat.
The afternoon will be spent in the Lynden area checking farm fields for
wintering swans, owls and raptors. Contact Dick for details at (360)

Sunday, February 9th, 2003 - Kennedy Creek, Sanderson Air Field, and
Jarrell Cove State Park - Terry Sisson will lead a trip in Mason County to
Kennedy Creek, Sanderson Air Field and Jarrell Cove State Park on Harstine
Island looking for wintering loons, grebes, alcids, ducks, and shorebirds.
Time and weather permitting, the afternoon will be spent looking for ducks
and sparrows at the Theler Center wetland and trail system in Belfair.

WOS Field Trips allow members to explore places or revisit familiar
haunts. Each trip is open to a limited number of participants. Each member
may join up to four trips per year (excluding annual conference trips).
Non-members may attend as a member's guest once per year. Questions about
field trips should be directed to the trip leader(s). If you would like to
lead a field trip, or would like to suggest a location for a field trip,
send a note to FieldTrips at wos.org.
