Anna's Hummingbirds are very early breeders. In the original
parts of their range in California, they begin in December. Two
well documented nests in Oregon were started in late-January or
early February and had fledged young by the end of March.

The Anna's in my neighborhood start showing signs of breeding
in early February, though I've never caught one on a nest.
