Great to hear that you are coming east and looking for GTTOs. Head for POMEROY on HWY 12. In POMEROY take MOUNTAIN Rd. south towards the UMATILLA N.F.. This road will become FSRD. 40. Stay on FSRD 40 south past Alder Thicket C.G., past Clearwater Lookout and on south until you come to the jct.with FSRD 43 which splits to the left or east. Stay on FSRD 43 past Wickiup C.G. and on to Wenatchee G.S.. The GTTOs are on territory on east about 300meters along FSRD 43, watch for a stack of four stones on the right side of the road. Walk from the stones south over the edge and down th a small point of Basalt, stop here and look to your left down into the draw with three doug fir in it. The GTTOs are down slope from the firs in the woody shrubs. There are also Spotted Towhees in the area so watch carefully. If you stay on fsrd 43 it will turn to the left and go to Asotin, great birding along this road when you reach Asotin Creek. From Asotin go north and you will be back to HWY 12. Fsrd 43 becomes Cloverland Rd. and drops down a very interesting grade( not the spot to learn of your breaks condition) into Asotin Creek Canyon and on to Asotin. Hope this helps.
