Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday July 3. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On June 28 a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was at New River south of Bandon. It
could not be relocated. The SEDGE WREN continues to be seen on the North
Spit of Coos Bay.

A singing male CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER is now at the southeast corner of Lost
Lake near Santiam Pass. A singing NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH is on territory
nearby.

The sandpiper migration is increasing with GREATER YELLOWLEGS in many areas,
some RED-NECKED PHALAROPES at Baskett Slough NWR, a WILSON?S PHALAROPE at
the Fernhill Wetlands, and a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER at Hatfield Lake near
Bend.

On July 1 a BLACK SWIFT was over Toledo. On June 27 a male REDSTART was near
Creswell. Two COMMON GOLDENEYE females with young were reported at the
Patjens Lakes in Santiam Pass. A pair of COMMON GOLDENEYES were on Mann Lake
in the Alvord Desert June 28.

That?s it for this week.
